Adopted Animals – Our Happy Endings
At Johnson Ranch & Rescue, every animal that leaves our gates for a safe, loving home is a win. This page is dedicated to the donkeys, cows, mini horses, goats, and other farm friends who were once in tough situations and are now living the good life with their new families.
These are the stories that keep us going.
From Rescue to Forever Home
Many of the animals that come to the ranch arrive from:
-
Neglectful or unsafe situations
-
Overcrowded herds that needed to be thinned
-
Owners who could no longer care for them
-
Auctions or environments where their future was uncertain
Here at the ranch, they receive:
-
Proper feed and fresh water
-
Vet care, farrier work, and any needed treatments
-
Time to decompress, rebuild trust, and just be an animal again
Only when they’re healthy, stable, and ready do we consider them for adoption into approved homes.
Our Adoption Promise
When an animal is adopted from Johnson Ranch & Rescue, we promise that:
-
They have been evaluated for temperament and basic health.
-
We match them carefully with families or farms that understand their needs.
-
We stay available as a resource for questions and support after they go home.
Our goal isn’t just to move animals out the door—it’s to make sure they never end up in a bad situation again.
Featured Adopted Animals
-
“Hank” – A beautiful baby Zebu bull who went to Little Wonders Ranch, where he’ll spend the rest of his life getting fat, happy, and loved.

-
“Liberty” – The sweetest little baby Zebu whose mother passed away has found her happy ending—she was adopted by a beautiful petting zoo in Alva, where she’ll be loved and spoiled for the rest of her life.

Each of these animals is proof that second chances are worth the work.

Sponsor a resident to help cover feed and care
-
Donate feed or supplies

Share our posts and help us reach more people
-
Visit the ranch during events and support our mission
Every bit of support helps more animals make it onto this “Adopted Animals” page one day.
