Photographer Sessions at Johnson Ranch & Rescue

Johnson Ranch & Rescue is available by appointment for professional photographers who would like to use the ranch as a backdrop for their sessions.

From open pastures and old fences to barn aisles, trees, and gentle farm animals in the distance, the ranch offers a warm, natural setting for:

  • Family portraits

  • Engagement & couples sessions

  • Maternity photos

  • Children’s portraits

  • Senior photos

  • Lifestyle & branding shoots

When you book with us, you’re not just getting a beautiful location—you’re also supporting a working animal rescue. A portion of every photography session fee goes directly to feed, care for, and house our animals.

What to Expect

Johnson Ranch & Rescue is a real, working ranch and rescue, not a studio set. That means:

  • Natural, outdoor light and authentic farm backdrops

  • Access to designated areas of the property approved for photography

  • The possibility of animals in the background for that true ranch feel

Animal interaction or posing directly with animals may be possible on a limited basis and must be pre-approved and supervised for the safety of both your clients and our animals.

Ranch Guidelines for Photographers

To keep the ranch safe and peaceful for our animals and guests, we ask all photographers to agree to the following:

  • By appointment only – No walk-in sessions. All visits must be scheduled in advance.

  • Respect the animals – No chasing, yelling, loud noises, or sudden movements toward the animals.

  • Stay in approved areas – Some areas are off-limits for safety or animal care reasons.

  • Supervision required – Children must be supervised at all times.

  • Leave no trace – Please take all props, trash, and personal items with you when you’re done.

  • No drones without prior written approval (they can stress the animals).

We reserve the right to stop a session if any behavior puts the animals, guests, or property at risk.

Session Fees & Scheduling

Photography session fees and time blocks may vary depending on:

  • Length of session

  • Number of clients

  • Special requests (props, animal involvement, specific areas, etc.)

We’ll review your request and provide current rates, available dates, and any additional details you may need.
